All shipping wars aside, and whether the intention is platonic or something more, can we at least appreciate the framing of the emotional reunion between Boruto and Sarada?
On the side of predictions, I’m more inclined to think the reason Sumire and Sarada weren’t affected by Omnipotence has more to do with Eida wanting friends than their feelings toward the Uchiha-technique learning blonde. But I could be wrong.
I am also hoping that Sarada plays a much bigger role, and that the key lies with her Mangekyou Sharingan. Others have pointed out how it has eight points, which none of the other Mangekyou Sharingan to date have featured – all others are multiples of three (either three or six), and there is argument that suggests it is symbolic of being stronger than the Six Paths power. Again, note the emphasis on six there. In Buddhism, there are six realms of samsara, the painful cycle of rebirth, with Karma driving the permanent samsara. Meanwhile, dharma, or cosmic law and order, and includes the Noble Eightfold Path, an early summary of the path of Buddhist practices leading to liberation from samsara in the form of nirvana. Note eight here. So basically having eight points could be interpreted as an upgrade or achieving higher power than a design with six points. I am thinking Sarada may have stronger abilities than any other previous Mangekyou Sharingan.
Though of course, this may all be wishful thinking.
