Minor News: Episode 128/133 & Volume 47

Been busy, hence the lack of updates. Yes, Y.org will get a revamp for it’s 5th anniversary, hence Fall 2010. This goal gives me plenty of time to work on it.

On the anime side, Minato appeared at the end of Naruto Shippuden episode 128, ド根性忍伝～自来也忍法帖～後編 (Tales of a Gutsy Ninja ~Jiraiya Ninja Scroll~ Part 2) and episode 133, 自来也豪傑物語 (The Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant), along with Kushina (yay).

In addition, Minato (well, his back) appears on the cover volume 47.

Sorry for the late post. Minato’s voice actor is Toshiyuki Morikawa (森川智之). A list of his other roles may be found at Wikipedia.

Episodes 119 & 120

I cannot but with great joy post that Minato will finally get his first real anime role, as next week’s one hour special will animate the long-awaited Kakashi Gaiden ~ Senjou no bouizuraifu ~ (Kakashi Chronicles ~ Boy’s Life on the Battlefield). This originally gave us the first glimpse of Minato back when it appeared in the manga in Chapters 239 to 244 (volume 27). These are officially listed as Naruto Shippuden episodes 119 and 120.

Chapter 455

According to recent spoilers, Kakashi acknowledges that he knows that Minato is Naruto’s father. After Naruto tells Kakashi and Yamato that he met Minato, Kakashi, thinking how he met his own father, asks Naruto what Minato said to him. Seeing Naruto’s confused reaction, Kakashi clarifies with, “A father would have much to say to his son.”

Chapter 450

Chapter 450 reveals by one of the Daimyo that Minato was “younger still” than Kakashi (currently 30) when he was appointed Hokage. So we now know that Minato was in the twenties at the time of Naruto’s birth and his death.

Future Revamp

Well, chapter 440 was certainly exciting. With the 10th anniversary of Naruto being celebrated this year, I do believe we need to join the party at Y.org. I am slowly working on a revamp, and some new additions to the site, one namely a Wiki dedicated to all things Minato, for your reference.

I can not give a timeline at the moment, but with school, it will not come until at least May 2009.

Chapter 440

So Minato ends up getting punched in the gut by Naruto. (Not that we expected a hug or anything, knowing how unhappy Naruto was being made a jinchuuriki.) Though Minato does offer encouraging words to Naruto, which seems to snap him out of his funk.

Chapter 439

Minato appears in Chapter 439, stopping Naruto from releasing all 9 tails. He speaks to the extent that he made the seal so that upon the point at being released, he appears in Naruto’s mind. While he did not wish to see the Nine Taled Fox again, he got to see his grown up son.

New Codes

Remembered, Minato’s fanlisting, has received a few new codes from the colour spread from chapter 410.

I may end up modifying the site design a bit in the future. While the overall organisation is ideal, I think some more colour would not hurt.

Minato’s profile has been updated with the new additional info from Naruto Databook 3 – Hiden: Sha no Sho. Related info to his level of skill remains a mystery, but at least we now know his favourite food.
